Nano violet tungsten oxide powder may be used for producing transparent thermal insulation nanopowder. And thereby such nano powder will be made into transparent heat-insulating film for use in construction and automobile energy-saving fields.
Violet tungsten oxide can also be used to produce submicron tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder. The approximate steps include: using violet tungsten oxide as a raw material, reducing it in a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain tungsten powder, mixing it with carbon to obtain a submicron tungsten carbide powder. Then, the morphology of the obtained powder was investigated in the following three ways.
1. Observe the morphology of powder directly in a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to understand the overall condition of the powder.
2. The powder was dispersed under ultrasonic waves for a long time to prepare a sample, and the condition of the single particles was studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and SEM.
3. The powder was consolidated in a medium to prepare a film sample, and the internal structure of the powder was observed in a TEM.
