Nano violet tungsten oxide powder may be applied for producing thermal insulation dispersion liquid. Violet tungsten oxide can also be used to prepare tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder. After the violet tungsten oxide powder, tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder were made into film samples, the SEM images of these films were observed. The inside of the larger particle group of the field of view was selected.
It can be seen from the image “a” below that the grain of the bulk particles in the violet tungsten oxide is still columnar structure, the size of the grains is not uniform, and the orientation is largely different. Therefore, although there are large massive particles in the violet tungsten oxide, submicron tungsten powder can be obtained after reduction. It can be seen from the “b” of TEM image of tungsten powder in the image that only part of the particles inside the particle cluster crystallizes is well and polygonal. Quite a lot of particles are not fully grown. There are also crystal defects.
From the “c” of TEM image of tungsten carbide powder in the image below, it can be seen that there are many defects in the particle cluster, such as lamellar structure; some particles have more dislocation lines, indicating that there are larger stress in particles.
