Nano violet tungsten oxide powder may be used for the production of thermal insulation dispersion, which may be applied in the fields of heat insulation in the form of a thin film, such as building heat insulation film and car heat insulation film.
Violet tungsten oxide can be used to prepare tungsten powder and tungsten carbide powder. Among them, there are two reasons for the coarser grain size of tungsten carbide than tungsten powder:
1. These powders have different densities. The density of violet tungsten oxide, tungsten and tungsten carbide was 7.72g/cm3, 19.3g/cm3 and 15.7g/cm3, respectively. Then, when a violet tungsten particle with a diameter of 1μm is changed into tungsten and tungsten carbide particles, the diameter is 0.68μm and 0.75μm in this order. That is, when the particles are reduced, the particles shrink significantly, the diameter is reduced by 32%, and the volume is only 31%. When carbonized, the particles have an expansion of about 10%, and the volume increases by 36%.
2. It is related to the spheroidization of particles during carbonization. During the carbonization process, there is material migration on the same particle. In order to reduce the surface energy, the material migrates from the curvature where the curvature is relatively large, so that the surface of the particle is smoother and closer to the sphere, and the diameter measured by BET is large.
