Nano violet tungsten oxide powder not only may be applied for producing near-infrared shielding material, but also for manufacturing nano WC-Co composite powder.
The preparation of nano WC-Co composite powder by violet tungsten oxide spray drying-direct carbonization method is based on WC-6%Co. The amount of raw materials including violet tungsten oxide, cobalt acetate, organic carbon and ultra-pure carbon black are calculated. Weigh moderate amount of raw materials add them into the inclined rolling ball mill equipped with an appropriate amount of pure water, wet-milled for 12 hours to form composite salt slurry, and then thoroughly stirred. The precursor powder prepared by spray drying had a particle size of 10~100μm and an average particle size of 50μm. The spray-dried powder was loaded into a boat (200g), pushed into a high-temperature molybdenum wire furnace, and hydrogen gas was introduced to reduce the nano WC-Co composite powder prepared at a carbonization temperature of 950°C for 30 minutes. The particle size distribution was narrow and the particle size was 5 ~45μm, average particle size is 23.38μm.
