Nanometer blue tungsten oxide may be applied for producing transparent thermal insulation nanopowder. What should be noted is that the prepared powder is not really transparent. It is the obtained heat-insulating film that has high transparency.
Blue tungsten oxide can be prepared by self-reduction of ammonium paratungstate (APT). Some researchers have studied the process technology of self-reduction to prepare blue tungsten oxide by using ammonium paratungstate as raw material.
These researchers adopted the technique of pyrolysis of ammonium paratungstate to produce hydrogen at high temperature, and the technique of self-reduction of the cracking product of ammonium paratungstate at high temperature to prepare blue tungsten oxide. Through a large number of experiments, the researchers studied the effects of temperature, rotary furnace speed and other process parameters on the performance of blue tungsten oxide under the condition of no NH3 or hydrogen. The researchers also highlighted the application of this process in protecting the environment, energy conservation, emission reduction, and safe production.
