As you may have known, nano grain size blue tungsten oxide (WO2.9) may be prepared by using ammonium paratungstate (APT) as material. The APT is decomposed into WO3, NH3 and H2O by heating. And WOX is utilized as a good catalyst of NH3 decomposition. So, the NH3 is further decomposed into N2 and H2. And then the WO3 is reduced to WO2.9 by controlling the reaction temperature and adjusting the pressure of the furnace gas. In this process, NH3 decomposed by APT heating is no longer discharged outward, but decomposed into N2 and H2 and then emptied, wherein part H2 reduces WO3 to WO2.9.
