Blue nano tungsten oxide for heat insulating window glass can be produced by calcining ultrapure ammonium paratungstate in argon. The particle size of the obtained blue tungsten oxide was detected to find that: the specific surface area of the blue tungsten oxide was 0.061m2/g, indicating that the particle size of the blue tungsten oxide was coarse. The particle size of the blue tungsten oxide is 85.38% between 9μm and 29μm, and 8.75% between 3μm and 9μm, and 5.87% between 29μm and 44μm. It can be seen that the obtained blue tungsten oxide is coarser and its particle size is mainly concentrated in the range of 9~29μm.
The SEM image of the obtained blue tungsten oxide was tested and found that the particle size of blue tungsten oxide was coarse and the particle size distribution was very uneven. However, the blue tungsten oxide powder has cracks. The generation of these cracks makes the blue tungsten oxide powder facilitate hydrogen into the interior of blue tungsten oxide during the hydrogen reduction process, thereby providing favorable conditions for the grain size refinement of tungsten powder.
