Dark blue nano tungsten oxide may be applied for manufacturing thermal insulation dispersion, which is mainly used in heat insulation fields such as building window glasses and automotive window glasses. More important, blue tungsten oxide of heat insulation performance is a new potential in the future. Therefore, researchers have done lots of experiments to know this material. For example, they found that blue tungsten oxide powder can be prepared using ammonium paratungstate (APT) as a raw material. Among them, APT of different crystal forms can be used to prepare blue tungsten oxide powder of different quality.
Some researchers did a contrast experiment. They compared two different crystal forms of APT and its products blue tungsten oxide and the high temperature performance of φ0.39mm doped tungsten wire. It was found that the blue tungsten oxide obtained using regular-shaped APT as raw material has uniform particle size, large specific surface area and high ammonia content in the process of producing doped tungsten wire. And the doped tungsten wire has better anti-sag resistance. It also showed that the importance of classifying APT materials and the types of APT that are suitable for the production of AKS-doped tungsten wire, i.e., tungsten wire doped with Al, Si and K.
