Blue tungsten oxide nano powder may be used for preparing infrared absorption material, which is widely used in heat insulating window glass, including building, automotive, and so on. Blue tungsten oxide is also a kind of material that can be added to sintered tungsten skeleton. Through comparison experiments, the researchers found that thermal conductivity of the composite obtained by sintered tungsten skeleton of blue tungsten oxide after copper infiltration is higher, while addition of fine tungsten powder in sintered tungsten skeleton has no obvious improvement on the thermal conductivity of the composite material.
The researchers analyzed that there are two main factors affecting the thermal conductivity of W-Cu composites:
1.0 The density of W-Cu composites - the lower the density, the higher the porosity and the worse the thermal conductivity of the material.
2.0 Cu forms an ideal network structure in the W matrix. This network structure can provide a good thermal conduction channel for W-Cu composites and improve the thermal conductivity of W-Cu composites.
