Blue tungsten oxide for transparent thermal insulation film’s morphology can be observed by conducting a transmission electron microscope experiment. In order to better observe the morphology of blue tungsten oxide crystals, the researchers selected two methods for preparing TEM samples, and compared the morphology images of samples prepared by the two methods. The following are discussing the two methods.
1.0 Grind the blue tungsten oxide agglomerate, disperse the agglomerates, and prepare a sample by using a carbon coating. The morphology of individual particles of the sample prepared by this method can be observed.
2.0 Directly cut the film for transmission electron microscopy from the micron-sized particles. In the process of preparing the sample by the method, the sample will not contact acid, alkali and high temperature, so that the original structure of the sample is not damaged, and the overall structural characteristics of the agglomerate can be observed. And therefore, the structural characteristics of the blue tungsten oxide sample can be fully understood.
