Tungsten trioxide can be used to prepare an electrochromic layer material - WO3 electrochromic film - for assembling a complementary electrochromic window. Some experts use a spectrophotometer to measure the transmission spectrum of the complementary electrochromic device - WO3/polymer electrolyte/NiO electrochromic window, that is, to measure the transmittance of the smart window in the color state and in the bleached state.

The normal incidence is happened at a wavelength in the range of 350-1000nm. The electrochromic window is applied with a voltage of 1.5V. And the time for applying the coloring and bleaching voltage is 60s. The measurement results are shown above. From the figure we can see that the modulation depth is over 50% between 700-900nm. It shifts blue from 700nm, and the modulation depth is gradually reduced. For the bleached state, the transmittance is gradually reduced. And for the colored state, the peak near 500nm is about 30%. Ultraviolet light is heavily absorbed by the substrate glass.
