What is thermal decomposition? Thermal decomposition refers to a method of preparing tungsten bronze by thermal decomposition of a precursor compound. The early thermal decomposition method for the preparation of tungsten bronze is obtained by thermal decomposition of metatungstate and paratungstate. For example, the products of decomposition of ammonium paratungstate under a reducing atmosphere are (NH4) xWO3 and HxWO3, respectively, depending on the reaction temperature. However, different decomposition temperatures occur in the difference between the precursor compound and the heating atmosphere. Therefore, a new method for preparing tungsten bronze by low-temperature thermal decomposition is needed: one is to find a new precursor compound; the other is to find a new heating atmosphere.
